More views on demolition

Min of Housing Prof. Anna Tibaijuka has warned people who think that completed highrise buildings cannot collapse. Yes they can. Attached is a film of the collapse of the building in the Mumbai Shanties in India that was photographed as it collapsed? She insists that substandard buildings or those violating urban plannin laws will have to be demolished to save lives. She said innocent unsuspecting people cannot be allowed to lose their lives form either greedy or ignorant developers. She said if within 30 days the twin building on Indira Gandhi street in Dar es Salaam will not have been demolished by its owners, it will be demolished by the Government at owners cost.
