“CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PRIME MINISTER OF BAHRAIN”

H.R.H Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain received a message from H.E Professor Anna K. Tibaijuka, retired Under Secretary General of the United Nations and immediate former Executive Director of the UN-HABITAT currently Member of Parliament and former Minister of Lands Housing and Human Settlements Development in the United Republic of Tanzania warmly congratulating H.R.H on being awarded the ICT Award in sustainable development from ITU and the Flame of Peace Award from the Association for the Furtherance of Peace.

Professor Tibaijuka recalled that H.R.H the Prime Minister was the first leader in the region to be awarded the prestigious Special Citation of the HABITAT Scroll of Honour in 2007. She added that she was gratified that the subsequent awards bestowed upon H.R.H the Prime Minister strongly validate the UN -Habitat decision at that time.

She recalled that on that occasion, H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary -General of the United Nations commended H.R.H the Prime Minister’s able leadership in reducing poverty and social exclusion by facilitating the provision of housing to the poor and disadvantaged.

“From the outset while at UNHABITAT I noted a distinguished leader and statesman in the person of His Royal Highness PM Khalifa. I am not suprised that others have followed to recognise his outstanding achievements. I predict much more to come”.

Honorable Professor Tibaijuka wished H.R.H. the Prime Minster ever more success and good health
